COMPLETED

Roll up your sleeves and get ready!

You asked. We listened! We will be running a Property Drafting Workshop on Sunday, 31st October 2021, 6PM to 10PM (GMT), provided a minimum number of subscribers are reached by 29th October (Booking Deadline).

Looking for some insight into what to expect?

The Workshop will focus on the Land Registry transfer of registered title forms. We’ll use Form TP1 for demonstration and exercises purposes, covering various examples of covenants, easements, declarations and others. The Workshop is designed to involve practical hands-on learning. We’ll have two tutors leading the Workshop.

Logistics

  • The Workshop is conducted online via WebEx. You’ll need to download Webex Desktop App.

  • You’ll need a computer with fast internet connection.

  • The joining link will be emailed to you on the same day of the Workshop.

  • You will need a Google/Gmail Account to access the Case Study. If you don’t have one, please sign up

  • The Case Study is only viewable online, before and during the Workshop. The Case Study access link will be emailed to you one day before the Workshop. You must not download, print, copy or share the Case Study.

  • Following the Workshop, you’ll receive the Case Study and handouts by email.

Price: £60

We hate saying it, but we have to!

This Workshop is outside of the normal schedule in response to repeated requests. If we don’t reach the minimum number of subscribers before the Booking Deadline, the Workshop will be cancelled, and you’ll get your money back. Sorry for being blunt, but we must!

Here’s how it works

  • Case Study: You will get access to the Workshop Case Study one day before the Workshop (you’ll need a Gmail/Google account to access it).

  • Pre-work: Here’s how you can do it! You have two choices. Either: (i) try the Case Study exercise in advance (recommended) and use the Workshop time to learn, review and compare; or (ii) complete the exercise during the Workshop.

  • Part (1) Typical Panels: The Tutor will introduce you to the key transfer of registered title forms, then go through the typical panels found on these forms and tell you how to fill them in.

  • Part (2) The Basics: On a high-level basis, the Tutor will remind you of key legal concepts (that you must learn before your exam) that could be relevant to completing the Land Registry transfer forms.

  • Part (3) Stop & Think Exercise: You will be divided into smaller groups to analyse the Case Study and complete the ‘Stop & Think’ checklist. This exercise teaches you how to turn instructions and facts into clear, actionable tasks using a simple thought mapping technique. Following that, the Tutor will show you how we applied the ‘Stop & Think’ approach to the Case Study.

  • Part (4) Drafting Exercise I: You will be asked to fill out the first part of Form TP1 on your own (individually) based on the Case Study. Following that, the Tutor will show you the correct entries panel-by-panel.

  • Part (5) Drafting Exercise II: You will be divided into smaller groups in breakout rooms to complete the second part of Form TP1 on your own based on the Case Study. You will carry out this exercise individually; however, you will have the option to talk it over with the others in your group. The Tutor will then walk you through a sample (panel-by-panel).
